Obituary of Tina Smith

Tina Marie Smith was 56 years old and passed away on June 8, 2023. She was born in Washington DC on November 8, 1966. Tina grew up in Laurel, Maryland and stayed in the area after graduation, working for the Department of Army. She was approximately 30 years old when she moved to Georgia where she resided for a few years. She then moved to the Jacksonville area of Florida where she remained until her passing. Tina worked for the Corps of Engineers for over 20 years and loved her job. She was loved by her co-workers who were truly wonderful to her, and she often spoke highly of them. She was able to spend over 2 months in Maryland with her family at Christmas time making memories that her family will cherish forever. For the last few years, she lived in a community that was amazing. She made wonderful friends that took care of each other, she spoke often about her cherished friendships. Her family thanks each and every one of you for taking care of her when we couldn’t be there. During her time in Florida, she was diagnosed with slow progressing Multiple Sclerosis (MS), she had been fighting it for years and didn’t even know. Tina also had COPD. She was an amazing person full of strength and never let her illnesses stop her from enjoying her life. She is survived by her daughter Ashe, Mom Patsy and Dad Sidney, her brother Travis and sister Tracy along with nieces and nephews. Due to circumstances no memorial will be held for the public.
